Learn more about Alcea
The name Alcea comes from the hollyhock, "Alcea rosea," a flower imported to Europe from China in the 15th century. Hollyhocks grow in many places: between paving stones, in fields, or on abandoned piles of earth. This rose evokes memories of holidays with my grandmother, where this flower is an integral part of the landscape. Its ability to thrive in both urban and rural environments inspired the name "concrete bloom," like the flowering of concrete. My main inspiration is the city, and more specifically, Paris. My goal is to bring back the color and purity of the hollyhock using solid, raw colors reminiscent of urban environments.
